Closer. This is the hiragana that makes the noise つ. In romaji it's tsu, like a t noise followed immediately by an s noise. I came up with the name when I was an online gaming otaku kid like 7 years ago.

And the u normally makes an oo sound as in boot, but the u in this case is commonly dropped or voiced very lightly, so it sounds more like ts-kah-eh.

kitsune is kee-tsoo-neh, by the way. Though I think English speakers tend to hold vowel sounds, especially long vowel sounds, longer than is normal for Japanese, so you should say it quicker than you might think.
