Chilean Minister of Energy and Mines, Laurence Golborne, has been attacked by an angry mob as he left a radio station in Punta Arenas. Golborne had flown to Punta Arenas in the Magallanes region on Monday on a mission to end the week-long protest over energy prices that has paralyzed the country's southernmost region.
It's stranded hundreds of foreigners and cost millions in lost tourist dollars. But Golborne failed to reach an agreement after several hours of negotiation and dialogue was broken off. He then spoke at a local radio station where he explained the situation to the community.
Hundreds of people were waiting for him outside the radio station and started to throw objects and attack the minister. Police pushed back the crowds and evacuated the minister using force.

Being a journalist myself, I find it hilarious that someone who has any knowledge of the subject can call the people who attacked this son of a ***** "angry mob".
