Second South American state in a short period of time to recognize Palestinian state in it's 1967 borders.

It's much bigger. I think we should expect China to endorse it too.
Dr. Nabil Shaath, one of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' senior advisors, estimated that additional Latin American countries will announce their recognition of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.
According to Shaath, Paraguay, Peru, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic are expected to follow in the footsteps of seven other South American countries and announce their support for Palestine. (Elior Levy)

Well, it's disingenuous for Israel to pretend that it has any say in whether or not Palestine is a state; their occupation is simply not legitimate and doesn't deserve to be recognized as such.

These are positive developments, but a Palestinian state will, out of necessity dictated by the reality Israel has created, be unviable. Look at the extensive Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Even if recognized, a Palestinian "state" will still be subject to Israeli aggression and will still basically constitute a Bantustan.
I'd rather see a one-state approach to try to solve the original problem of ethnic cleansing, but whatever the case, Palestinians shouldn't be dictated to by Israelis and have the right to not live under occupation.

China's calling for recognition when the UN does as well. Besides, I have no doubt that China will. Hell, they were one of the first countries to recognize the PLO during the '60s.

Economically, yes. Though, China's a very peaceful nation towards those who they conduct bilateral relations with. As so they were during the '60s as well.

Cristina Kirchner is a sharp gal. People were saying how she assumed the presidency on the coat tails of now deceased Ernesto Kirchner, but in fact, she's quite apt as president. There was an issue with immigrant squaters at a park somewhere and she sided with the immigrants as opposed to the city folk complaining about them. None the less, she's no radical and in fact, if I'm not mistaken, part of the left wing of the Peronista party.
And frankly, I could give a shit how many pair of shoes she owns.
