I live in America, and I have recently found out about Maoism-Third Worldism. This group certainly frightens me because they believe that I, a member of the American Proletariat, should be treated the same as a member of the American Bourgeoisie.
I may be a bit biased here, but this sounds a lot like a form of Red Fascism.
What do you think?

You seem to pretty much on the mark.
There is one in the opposing ideologies section. Might want to have a look in that thread.

Yeah its stupid. But heres a few key points-
1. There are not many third worldists. Under 20 worldwide probably
2. Almost all of them live in the first world.
3. They are nothing like the real Maoists, let alone those in the third world. There are instances on revleft for example of sharp debate between third world maoists and maoist third worldists, which should tell you how relevent and correct they are.. (i have not seen third world maoists bother to address these loons outside of revleft)
So no need to be scared of some impending genocide at the hands of TWists. but we should rigorously criticise their line and eliminate all sympathy for it on the left because its just so stupid

Can someone give me a relatively in-depth explanation of third world-ism? I don't have much of an understanding.

It is what it sounds like, a glorification of the third world peasantry and proletariat. They look exclusively at income to determine how "proletarian" someone is, and not the relations to the means of production nor living costs. They believe that the first world proletariat are not "real" proletarians, since they have a higher income.
It is essentially based on the fallacy that it is wealth that determines if one is proletarian or not. By that logic, children would be the most proletarian of all. Not to mention it would mean that trade unions are anti-Proletarian, as fighting for wage raises would somehow make people less proletarian.
They view the actual third world communists as revisionists, including the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and others. They are pretty much one of the most sectarian tendencies within the Maoist movement, a movement not exactly known for being anti-sectarian.
It is a practical and a theoretical mess, and it is not Marxist or pro-Working Class in the slightest
