DVD-RW drive not reading DVDs

but reading other formats.

i installed Daemon Tools lite a while ago but after a while it just stopped reading dvds, only.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

you might not be able to, you should think about getting a replacement, i assume you've tried cleaning it?

i have not, i dont have any disk cleaner. would i need some?

it reads CD-r alright.

you can get disks will a load of little brushes in them for cleaning the lenses of cd and dvd players, it might be worth trying that, i'd get a cd one since it still reads cds. I have no idea if it will help but its the only thing i can think of.
