Based on a number of post about revolutionary milita and standing army, I would like to know what is the view on what a revolutionary military force would look like if the communist or anarchist ever came to power. How would we tell if it was a milita or standing army as a number of standing army have use milita as a way to define it self. The states are a very good example of this, where for most of it life, the standing army of each state, called it's self the state milita.

Another thing we need to answer is should we have a revolutionary milita or standing army, and why. How would are training be different form those right wing milita and army we see today?

Well, if you don't pay the military, just make it that everyone has to serve for some period of time.

It's possibly a better option. If you pay them, and if you give large sums of money to generals and etc, they become mercenaries. Although not many people would wilingly serve on the military. However, if they are conscious people and have made a revolution, I suspect many would wilingly serve on the military to defend socialism, if need be.

The problem is that conscription is another way to mercenary. You will have to pay the military something, if not ofr the equipment they use at least for the food the eat. There has never been a free army or milita ever. In fact the ideal behind consription, was that the military would be payed in the lands, that they just conquered, giveing them the same reason as a mercenary to fight. If you don't win you don't get payed. Today conscription pays you with a job, which is valued in a world were 10% or more unemployment is the norm.
