Hello All.
My name is Mark and I am a Marxist from Yorkshire, England. Are there any other comrades from this area on the site. Does anyone have any views on the BNP and the scary rise of facism in the northern uk?

Welcome, Yorkshireboy... I'm just a southern softie, It's a frightening thing for sure. Symptomatic of the increase in economic migration amongst other thing's, disenfranchised youth etc... Maybe you should start a thread in politics...

Hello Mark! I'm Ben and I'm from Birmingham (getting closer). Welcome. Around us the BNP has a few voters too. My school is full of their followers. It's a pretty scary prospect but the fascists are just on a high due to the post-Iraqi disillusionment of voters from Labour and Conservative. The ruling class is proving very incompetent in the UK. With a bit of hype from the media due to asylum figures, they're getting some support. My only fear is racial violence. The BNP may get a few seats on local councils but will fail in the general election.

Yay, Yorkshire!
Dont live there anymore but i still consider my roots in that fair county, still, only swapping the colour of the roses.
I think the BNP must have something to do with the rise of yob culture in the North, especially in Burnley...

What does "Hamur" have to do with it? ;)

p.s. it is an Icelandic word btw and it does mean something similar to "outer skin"
