Give Your Life?

I was reading some old speeches of Lenin and came to thinking... at what point would I be willing to give my life for my ideology?

So here's the question. Under what conditions would you be willing to give your life for your respective ideology and why? If you wouldn't be willing, explain.

Any serious revolutionary has come to grips with the possibility, perhaps even the likelihood, of death. This is true in revolutionary situations and non-revolutionary situations. Radical activists face state repression all the time.

I'm more for striving to live another day and building a 'better quality of life' for myself and the community who shares my ideology to prove the benefits of acceptance of our ideas by society.

Or at least writing a book in which a large audience can understand and relate to, or producing 'art' that can evoke response. Getting yourself killed is not enough to bring about change.

The second Fascists take over the United states is when I'm ready. I refuse to live under fascist rule so my children can be sent to a deathcamp because their black, or have them brainwashed into thinking their inferior. That or I'm taking the raft to Cuba :cubaflag:.

I'd risk my life for it, even if a high risk, but I ain't about to let somebody blast me in the head unless there's a damn good reason for it... a really good reason.

I fear that I would be too cowardly to give my life for what I believe in. I would however risk my life, but I would never accept my death easily.

I've never feared death.... The pain that is necessary to achieve death... Now THAT'S what I'm scared of.
