Are you guys Communists or offshoots?

What I mean is, are you actually Communists (followers of Marx) or an ideology derived from Marxism?

From what I've seen there are a few different choices.

It matters who you are speaking to.

As an "ultra-left" Marxist, I would say that I follow "true Marxism," but ask a "Marxist-Leninist" and they will say that they are the "real communist."

Something you guys should keep in mind is your own divisions. Lets say you overthrow capitalism in America, what if there were Maoists and Leninists doing the fighting? It is very possible that you would fight amongst your selves. I am not bashing you guys I am only bringing this up for you to keep in mind.

I dont think that as a leftist i need to consider myself an 'orthodox marxist-lenist-moaist-trotskyite-etc...', its quite a mouthful and breeds the fetted scum of secterianism that has been the downfall of most attempted socialist revolutions. If we were able to create a revolutionary situation, with thousands of workers and students on the streets, i dont want countless secterians screaming their own points of view and fucking up a once in a lifetime oportunity. its happened before and it will happen again if we arent carefull.

Most people here aren't self-proclaimed communists, but rather socialists. If you want, you should ask people seperately. It almost seems like this tread was started to get various 'communist factions' to attack each other.

I am not a communist, or an 'offshoot.' The problem with you, young Loknar, is you are declaring the left into communist faction. I am a left-winger, but by no means a communist. I have never been pro-communist.
