ok- so for the longest time i have thought that coldplay was nothing but an overrated mtv band. however, recently i have been listening to more and more of their stuff and i really love it. i think the music is beautiful and touching. im probably going to go buy the cd sometime soon.

well, what do you guys think?

Coldplay are good, but and there best album imo is parachuts (sp). That has some excelent songs on it.

Coldplay's great...A rush of blood to the head, now, that's a phat anti-war song if I've ever heard one...And since Chris Martin doesn't come across as much of a tosser either, the more the better.

Nonono. Coldplay are awful. Their music is tuneless. It's like generic pop, only slower. I'd like to rant more but I'm off to see Pirates of The Carribean. Man, Johnny Depp's hot

Coldplay are really into fair trade, they're poltically minded but it doesn't show in their music (this is all from a Big Issue interview), apparently Chris says he took the easy option and sings about girls instead of politics. It's got them a long way, they couldn't have made it on politics, which is a bit sad but I reckon they can be trsuted to use their fame in a good way.

I had parachutes but I lost it, they do remind me of a more mainstream radiohead, I have to say. they're good at what they do and that's enough for me, I jsut don't listen to them in particular.

Yeah- i noticed that they were politically minded. On his piano Chris has written Make Trade Fair, which blew me away. And i totally agree with you- they may not sing about political causes, but im sure they are pretty active (using their fame in good ways).

Coldplay is probably one of the only slow bands that I listen to and actually enjoy. their music is just so...so I don't know it just feels good or something :huh: I think my fav. song is yellow. All my friends make fun of me cus of this :P

How popular are they in America? Is that the kind of Brit music that Yanks like? Because ive heard Radiohead mentioned on American TV before suggesting that they have at least a msall following

I really like coldplay, i think they're a good band, because their music is not complicated its pretty basic i think they're really easy to listen to!
