Yeah I was actually thinking about asking the mods to make a music sticky thread in here but Reactionary Chatter seems to be doing well enough for that!

The funny thing is that most people were arguing your restriction was not political.

Some here have been restricted by their own free will, like Bud, others for single issues/disagreements like Gacky or I- but you have, it seems, been restricted for being..... an embarassing moron.

You lower the tone of OI.

Wait, sticky this!

Enough of horrible music clodding up the chatter thread!

Just because you guys (ie Robert, Mariel, and CM) like to circle jerk about your tastes in horrible sounding music doesn't mean we should go through a chatter thread a week! (My taste in music is infinitely worse to be sure)

Anyways, THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS

Best song by a Beatle post-Beatles? So many would say imagine or some other self righteous lennon stuff. Some may even claim the wings (yeah, some do) as having the best.

But by far and away the best post-Beatle Beatle was George Harrison. Yeah, I said it.

#FF0000

That song is better than I expected. I think the lyrics are kinda cheesy, but the vocals are p. good.

Metal seems to have a problem with vocalists. A bunch do that dumb growly screaming thing which is okay sometimes but it really sucks when they do it while they have a great singer. Then there's bands like Dream Theater with really cheesy vocalists. That's why I listen to Post-Metal now I guess.

Now I'm going to post metal.

I don't know this guy--but it seems a lot of people do, and he's good nothing against him--but I just would NEVER think of a song like that. I would never say I was ordinary and I would spank (not literally) my kids if they ever uttered such a thing from their mouth.

I wonder if it's the American culture or our Bourgeoisieness. I just found that song amazing.

Speaking of immigrant songs

Palingenisis
7th February 2011, 22:33
Loads of my family were forced to emigrate for either political or economic reasons or a bit of both down through years, its probably the same in all Irish families, and while the bosses (or entrepenaurs in libertarian speak) have used immigration into Ireland to fuck over both the immigrants and the "native" working class I have a real hatred of people who are anti-immigrant which is different from being anti-immigration (which is still wrong, but someone can be against immigration for economic as opposed to racist reasons)...to me they are just the scum of the earth, hating people who left their homes not because they wanted too but because they really had no choice or at least felt that to move to a country that is bewildering a lot of the time and unwelcoming at other times. Pure scum.

I was always unusual among Irish-American Plastic Paddies in that I was more or less completely ambivalent about the IRA.

Until I heard that they plotted to kidnap/kill Bono, or something.

A famous little song from the early days of the "Troubles" in the six occupied counties of Ireland. It stems from the bitter "Battle of Bogside" in Derry city when the residents of the Bogside (the main "nationalist" area) for three days successfully fought off the attempts of the Police to enter the neighbourhoods in 1969.
The song is performed here by Caroline Quigley of Derry, age 7 at the time of recording in about 1971,. Her mother was Helen Quigley, a very fine singer and a well known member of the Republican Movement in Derry. This is a live recording made at The Bogside Inn in Derry at a special concert organised by members of the Official Republican Movement.

On 9 August 1971 a small Official IRA unit led by Staff Captain Joe McCann seized Inglis' Bakery and fortified it against an oncoming assault by the British Army. Over 600 British troops were on the way into the Markets area of Belfast to round up suspected IRA members for Internment without trial. Joe and his unit fought all night, outnumbered by about 100 to 1, and held off the British Army allowing many Republican Activists the time to make an escape.
This musical celebration of that event is sung by Margaret Power. She was the mother of Thomas "Ta" Power, a famous Belfast Republican Socialist. He and his family were friends and comrades of Joe McCann.

The funny thing is that most people were arguing your restriction was not political.

Some here have been restricted by their own free will, like Bud, others for single issues/disagreements like Gacky or I- but you have, it seems, been restricted for being..... an embarassing moron.

You lower the tone of OI.

Your guns do not scare me.

If you could follow logic (which is questionable at this point) you would know just because she started the thread isnt reason to give her props for "being the reason" it is stickied. Theres 100s of threads in OI that are created by many people and none of them are stickied, so therefore theres another reason for it being moved.

It is stickied because it was MY idea to sticky it. I then went through the motions of asking the forum moderator and fellow admin if I had his permission to sticky it. Palin doesnt even fall into those series of events.

So why dont you stop while your ahead and enjoy the fact I took 10 minutes of my precious time to make your gulag a tad more comfortable before you piss me off and everyone here suffers because of your immaturity.

Everyone suffering by my immaturity? But, if you unstickied it, it would have indeed been a waste of your time. If you chose to use your power to unstick a thread, it was your action and your decision. There are certainly other ways to "punish" me individually for my actions. Don't try to pretend that unstickying the thread is the only way to force your opinion on me.

By the way, I thought communists did not believe in intellectual property? What's all this talk about "MY IDEA" ? Especially since TAFKABM had also thought of it (http://www.revleft.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1984324&postcount=3). TheCultOfAbeLincoln also suggested it (http://www.revleft.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1984506&postcount=7).

But anyway, let us not waste any more time on this subject. You are right, you had a tremendous effort to get this thread stickied. Why are there so many posts about Commies
And what's on the other side?
Communism maybe vision, or only illusions,
And Communists have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
Maybe they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the Commie connection,
Stalin and Trotsky and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
when wished on the Big Red star?
Marx thought of that
and somepeople believed it,
and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps Commies believing?
And how do that think the world might be?
Someday we'll find it, the Commie connection,
Stalin and Trotsky and me.
