A more important question would be, what percentage is it?

bailey_187

I have to drink something fairly tasty before I can stomach supermarket own-brand spirits. I'm not a fan of cheap wine either. I usually drink cider, but I know that cider is just as likely to give you a belly. It just tastes better.

That cheap Rose from spar we get is pretty nice. lol just you wait kayl, you'll end up one of those weird people in CAMRA with a huge beard and a woolly jumper who sits in pubs all day complaining about strongbow and Weatherspoons pubs.

I can't grow a beard, oddly enough. I won't be complaining about 'spoons for a while though, given it's the cheapest place I can go to to get decent-tasting cider.

Also, that rose isn't cheap. It's just cheap for fizzy wine.

Idk kayl, you seem like the type to end up bitter about the increasing number of chain pubs.

pfft, a decent bottle of wine is usally £8-9, that stuff is under a fiver.

You can get decent-tasting wine for less that £8-9. I'd expect two passable bottles for that, but maybe I'm just tight. I don't think I've ever spent more than £5-6 on a bottle of wine.

Oh, and chain pubs just don't have the same atmosphere where you know the staff, and they always close dead on closing time.

Where do you get it from? (Assuming you get it from somewhere in Sheffield.)

I don't know about sheffield, but you can get Tesco own brand port down here for £5.50 or something like that.

I'll look into it. Port isn't exactly my favourite drink, but if I just want to get drunk it sounds like a good option

Everywhere I go, it's strictly for the ladies. People can be rather dumb and chauvinistic about this. But when we're out of beer, I certainly don't mind it. I've seen some people order beer through some late-night beer service (probably at an inflated price), just because they didn't want to drink wine. Weird.

Holy shit, finally a drink that I would buy just because of the label. And having looked it up, it sounds even better.

It is a soft drink.

The most evil thing I ever drank, and I am somebody who feels quite relaxed drinking 90% (by volume, not proof for Americans) home made Poitín, was something that we were given at a dinner by an old friend of mines father who had just come back from working in Kazakhstan. I still don't know what it was, but this guy poured out reasonably generous glasses and then insisted that we add a mixer. Now I am not a mixer sort of man, but when this guy proceeded to dilute it with vodka, I realized that this was a serious sort of drink.

A good evening was had by all.

i bought a 5L box of rosé once. drinking it was quite strange. i would drink it, feel no effect, drink more, and fall to sleep. then i'd wake up, wonder what happened, so the cycle would repeat. went that way until i got through the whole thing and it never got me drunk. personally i like rum but nothing beats rakija. erguotou is also nice, if you can find a chinese supermarket or somewhere that stocks it.

It might depend what state you live in but most colt 45's in the US i heard are 6.1.

I like the idea of the narrow mouth on the bottles. Once again for another Canadian colt 45 fact... all our Bottles have wide mouths, like this...

It makes me think of young teenagers who don't actually like alcohol or wine, so they opt for a sweet rose that tastes mostly like grape juice.
