So I thought it was about time I joined a "communist forum" so I did a google search and lo and behold, here I am.

I hail from the Faroe Islands, where we really don't have a strong socialist movement anymore, sadly. So I haven't taken part in political actions.
If I were to label myself, I'd say I am a democratic socialist, and I disagree with the idea of a vanguard party, but I can see why its way more "practical"

Although I agree strongly with Lenin on one point. "He who does not work, neither shall he eat", as free entitlements are increasing way too much. At least where I'm from, and the unemployment offices really should offer them a job, or kick them out, if there are available jobs of course.
Unemployed people should of course get some benefits, but here they're getting up to 80% of their previous salary, and this means many aren't looking for jobs.

So that's some of my views, and I look forward to many great discussions.

Welcome, I think you might be the first comrade from the Faroe Islands, which I just learned existed. You learn something new everyday.

Unemployment will be handled very different in a post-revolutionary society. Specifically everybody will have to work less, so it won't really be an issue.

To be honest, I am getting the Idea that you agree with Communism but you think it's a bit too authoritarian, so you call yourself a democratic socialist (Just an assumption).

Well, you're in luck, because every Communist on this forum (Almost) advocates complete rule by the working class under Communism, complete democracy.

The only things we disagree on is how to get there.

But I think you should read up on Council Communism, because you'd seem to fit into that well.

Not all of us are Leninists, and not all Communists are Leninists... and some aren't Marxists either.

Welcome, though. ;)

Yes, on many points I agree with communism and may be sitting on the fence between socialism and communism.

Of course all of you aren't Leninists, that would just be boring :)

p.s. I'll definitely have to read up on council communism, it sounds very interesting.
