I haven't been to one for a while...since last year to Beyond Wonderland. Thinking about going to one in a couple weeks down here in so-cali. :D

We dont have raves in northern New Brunswick. However, we do have clubs that have teenager nights every Thursday where you can buy drugs, listen to shit music, and watch permiscuis girls try and get laid. My first time going there I was arrested for an assault I don't remember clearly... If that settings anything like a rave i don't think it's the right scene for me.

Yeah, that's pretty much the scene. Its much more fun to go with a group of people you know and just have a blast dancing to house, and the occasional recreational serotonin pill:rolleyes: Besides the the very slutty men and women, the social environment is great. Everyone is usually drugged out, but your pretty much open to talk to anyone there.
I had a similar experience though. I was talking to a group I had just met at the show and I had seen some girl who looked like she was trying to deal to an undercover there. Me being the heroic one, went over and tried communicating with her by getting next to her and telling her she was talking to an undercover. Next thing I know she starts yelling for help, I run away, and then I get kicked out. That night I seen three people tasered and one guy pull a gun out. There is a lot of "politics" concerning where the venues are held and how the security treats the people in there, but if you can get over that, you'll have fun.

Well im sure i would enjoy it if I could take the "occasional recreational serotonin pill" but due to health complications I would rather not risk doing it again. This leads me to buying enough alcohol to "match" what the "occasional recreational serotonin pill" would do. The thing is drinking is a gamble you can have the best night of you life or the worst. You could be happy or angry. If i can't mosh and/or break shit while I'm at the state of mind I call the MDMA drunk, i go...psycho.
Its really a lose-lose situation.

MMM yeah I know what you mean, but you really shouldn't mix MDMA and alcohol. It dehydrates you and with some people makes the experience less enjoyable. Plus, if someone tried to obtain MDMA, it would be best to get it from a known source that is safe.
I had a reckless experience last year where I went to this same rave I'm thinking about going, drank half a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka and about 3 MDMA pills. I really do not remember half the night and ended up with 7 numbers of women I didn't recall meeting lol. I did get a good friendship out of that night though, but people just gotta be more careful then I obviously was.
What kinda shows do you usually go to? Or what do they have to offer in New Bruinswick?

lol, i never said i mixed the two. What i meant was since i cant use ecstasy anymore i drink my face off when I'm around my friends that are rolling. if i drink enough I get a placebo empathy type effect. That might just be the hippy in me though.
well southern New Brunswick has a lot more to offer. Bigger cities, more people, better jobs. There's punk and metal shows that go on every week or so with the occasional concert, such as Heart, which I'm hoping on getting tickets for pretty soon.
Northern NB is overall boring. People are moving away every week to better places so there's not much to offer the "left behinds". We have the rare punk show every 5-12 months and the bars if your legal age. Other than the Thursday night teen club thing I mentioned earlier its a pretty boring life for teenagers.
But of course there are the parties, but there pretty boring now a days.

oh my bad lol... mmm I like punk shows so that doesn't sound too bad. Any type of rockabilly scene over there? I feel your pain though. I live in a rural area where shit squat happens, but I'm about 45 min away from la where all the shows and events happen so it ain't all too bad.

Its bad if you live in the north like me.
As far as i know, around the Moncton area, rockabilly is pretty non-existent. whist I was living in Moncton the majority shows that went on were folk, stoner metal, and punk.

Well if you do that its probably a result of some loneliness, and i suppose due to how you'd be percieved, a lack of shame (or insane confidence), on your part but i don't think thats dirty

I suppose dirty was a wrong word for me to use. I really didnt mean anything by "promiscuous" when I originally posted it. Y'all would just have to be there for yourself.

I went to one in the boondocks of some hellhole state, and can't say I really enjoyed myself. The drugs at the place weren't all that easy to find, and when they were, it ended up being someone fucking with them, and half the people who bought some getting mad and kicking the a couple of guys asses for about twenty minutes. (All the while, the rest of the rave raged on, oblivious to the beating.)
So basically I just got drunk at it, and then left after about an hour with friends.

Haha yes it does;) I didn't mean to use slut in any bad way because then I'm a bit of a hypocrite. I always end up finding and talking a sexy girl, dance, make out, then find another one:rolleyes: It is much easier at raves to just go and talk to people regardless of drugs(I do prefer mine sober) so I end up having a good time.
I think all you revlefters with bad experiences need to come rave with me jeeze, I hate to hear all these bad stories lol:crying:

I used to go to free parties in unlicensed warehouses and outdoor areas when I was younger - I liked them better than going to clubs, even the huge clubs that held legal "rave" style events like SeOne - they just had a better vibe and feel...
I don't think I'd enjoy it the same way at this stage of my life though...you really have to be in the right state of mind going in I think to get everything out of it.
wear earplugs if you want to be able to hear quiet and high pitched noises when you're in your mid-20s!

Back in my day we used to have proper raves none of this going out on the pull like some seedy sex pest, it was all about making love to the music maaaan. If at the end of the night you weren't walking out at 6 a.m. totally dripping wet like you had just been in a swimming pool of sweat for 8 hours then you were doing something wrong. The whole atmosphere in clubs has completely changed last time I went to a hard house night I had people trying to start fights with me for no reason once for knocking into someones elbow another time for walking through someones photo seriously like WTF why are you taking photos in a club you stupid fucking children. I blame the drugs, they aren't even half as strong as they used to be if everyone was having a good buzz on an E there would be no problems but no taking an E now is like taking an asprin you need about 10 to get them to work properly. Now nightclubs have such a macho feel to them back in the day it was hugs and kisses and tasting the rainbow. Oh yeah and you're all shit dancers......except these people

To be fair, whenever I take a coat out, I just dump it on the floor near where I'm dancing so I don't have to pay. I seem to be one of the few women I know that bothers even taking a coat out, which I find bizarre. It's below zero, why would you willingly go out in a short, sleeveless dress with no coat?

Pretty sure that if its in a commercial club with mean security guards you can't call it a "rave" ;)
And what a shitty club - there are lots of clubs in London where the security doesn't even care if they see people dealing as long as they are discreet about it.

I've been to places where they offer you soap and moisturiser as though it's free, and really push it on you, and then expect to be paid. Then you're kind of forced to pay (or I am, because I'd feel awkward and mean refusing).

Well reason is because in so-cal, at least from what I know here, the promoters are all fucked up and corrupt. I've been to a couple raves where people I know who were selling were caught, confiscated of their pills and cash, and then let go(security guards just took it for themselves). Well either way i'm going to this one.
