I always thought that as long as a country had and could produce sufficiant food for its population, the communist country had unlimited currency and could make whatever it wanted provided it had sufficiant natural resources. Labour is paid with food, then you can build all the houses you want as long as there is enough stone and wood, all that is requires that is outside my explanation is the skill needed to craft (and to conserve the natural resources), knowledge and technique- something that it seems is thought can only come from capitalism. Well this knowledge and technique did come from a basic capitalistic enviroment and/or attitude; but that a cave man trying to survive in competition with his surroundings and perhaps his neigbours, or perhaps just so he could be a working funcional part of his social structure (the latter sounds communistic). All I think that is neccasary in a communist country is a network enought to distribute food and people's skills which people need to provide for one another. Basicly all countries have that, or the people living their would be living there much longer. So what is all this about capitalsim is need, yes it is, but not to the extent that it even needs to be mentioned.

As liberal left it is transition into freedom and equality. Feudalism, owned and under strict classes. Capitalism "free", but people will be above others. Communism equal oppurtunities and "freedom". Too much freedom too soon and people fuck up.

Also if you look at pervious attempts there are historical reasons.
