My new years revolution is one of smashing the bourgeois state.

what's your new years revolution?

Edit: my actual resolutions are to try to be bored as least as possible, have my band be wicked sick, and to get laid.

I'm a month without alcohol right now- I'd like to quit smoking cigarettes and start working out again. I'd like to play ice hockey again and I'd like to go back to college.

To learn the guitar

To be in a relationship

To have a great summer

To have a generally good time

To develop a new circle of friends, since I barely have friends these days

Could be mine, if you make that a bass guitar.

Though I'm not gonna go for those, cos if I don't, I won't fail.

I like success, call me cappie if you will!

Moral compass?

A specific number like that implies you think of 'bedding girls for rep' as a high standard.

Now now, let's not jump to conclusions. They could've meant it as a minimum or a rough estimate.

Well you shouldn't have posted something that could be construed as objectification on a leftist forum then.
Perhaps you didn't mean it like that but that's the way it came across. If you'd said 'have sex at least 5 times' there wouldn't have been a problem i don't think.

There is a lot of really aggressive male sexual "jokes" in chit-chat (yes, I'm thinking of you Political Chunky) that give this place an awful boys club feel, and when a couple of people point it out just once, its "the feminist inquisition"?

Next time I'll remember to mind the subtleties.

I don't see why some people feel the need to read things into others posts. On top of that this starts with the assumption beforehand that because I'm talking about sex with girls and because I'm a male, it must be objectification and I don't see women as people. That's borderline insulting.

I don't see why some people feel the need to read things into others posts.

Its not a matter of "reading things into posts" its a matter of what language conveys in our culture and society.

On top of that this starts with the assumption beforehand that because I'm talking about sex with girls and because I'm a male, it must be objectification and I don't see women as people. That's borderline insulting.

Its not because you're male and talking about sex, its the way you talk about sex with "girls" -

That's considered aggression now?

You wont really get what actually is aggressive if you experience male privilege without a higher degree of social understanding.

Lets consider some quick examples in chit chat recently

(in reply to "What would you like to see added onto humans")

A larger penis.

Or tighter vagina.

Whatever. I have the biggest penis.

Lol, I imagined this thread before the click to be "looking to straighten out my penis"

In my opinion, that line is not homophobic what so EVER. Your taking it out of context. If I had another man or woman suck my dick, or threaten "suck my dick" as if I was to say fuck you, its a reference on how dominent you are compared to the other person. If you really break that line down, hes implying that he came from nothing, and now everyone sucks up to him(no pun intended). Just by him saying, "no homo," hes stating not in a sexual way. But what his actual views are on homosexuals I don't know, but you can't really justify him being homophobic from that.

Some people are sucha ninny about things.

I just found out how to do it. I promise to thank you when you stroke my weenie.

in reply:

Nah, you'd better stroke mine, as my e-peen is far bigger than yours. Perhaps some of my glory will rub off on you.

http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=aggressive

is this incorrect?

I apparently am not very socially enlightened because I just don't understand why making jokes about dicks or sex are aggressive. In fact, I easily hear girls make them just as much as guys.

Presumably, if they have casual sex, sex for enjoyment and without romantic accompaniments, they may appreciate a degree of variety in their engagements. I do not see anything necessarily sexist or malign in this, although, being asexual, I do find it somewhat strange an ambition, somewhat like resolving to read 5 Ayn Rand novels. While it may involve some 'objectification', this is by no means more than is generally endemic to sex as a means of pleasure, and, after all, most sexual people are not demisexual.

-Complete my third year of uni reasonably well so that I can do my final year with no problems.
-Do more drawing and writing.
-Finish the corset I started making about 4 years ago (and possibly shrink back down to fit in the damn thing).

It would be cool to kick some of my more destructive behaviour, but I'd rather make resolutions that I can definitely stick to.
