This is a thread from another forum I'm a member of, and I've decided to make one for this forum. Hopefully this might help cut the drama somewhat.

Here's a few rules for this thread -

* Keep it anonymous. That is, do not name the person you are talking about, and don't purposefully hint at their identity. The only way this thread will work is if you keep it anonymous.
* Don't post in the thread numerous times a day, or every time you feel the need to complain about someone.
* Don't reply to a post in this thread, keep it solely as a thread for posting comments of your own.
* No commenting about an entire group, tendency or political ideology.
* You can't complain about people you know in real life and on other forums in this thread. This is for RevLeft only, don't bring RL or other forum drama onto RevLeft, please.

You are a very important member of the board, but most importantly you have been a great friend for me. Your sharing of experiences from the road of life has meant a lot for me, for as I'm younger than you it has been very valuable for me. Whatever I can have offered in return pales in comparison, how could it not?

I don't have an abundance of really good friends anymore exactly, which is why our friendship has meant so much for me -- which, in turn, is why our disagreements, to which I guess both were equally guilty in our own ways, were almost too hard for me to bear from time to time.

When it comes to board stuff, you are right in 97% of all cases, and several times I've been utterly and totally wrong in disagreeing with you -- but not every time (in my own opinion of course). But however the case now is with this, I hope we never, ever argue in that way again. Arguing with people one doesn't like is one thing, hell, it can even be enjoyable, but my mind is just too sensitive to not be friends with people I adore -- it crushes me.

As a realist I understand that of course two people like us aren't ever going to agree on everything, but luckily I think that we are finally, slowly but certainly, learning to agree to disagree with each other. And that's what matters, really.

As I've said, I'm delighted that you have become so much more compromising and pragmatic. It really has made me respect you even more than before, as I know hard hard -- almost impossible, actually -- it is for most human beings to really change their behaviour once fully grown into adulthood.

But it takes two to tango, and hopefully I will in turn learn to control my own mood, temper and actions better. I suffer from a condition, which involves a lacking impulse control, which triggers arguments -- I'm just way too impatient, always wanting to solve problems on the spot and totally freaking out if I can't.

This and other issues I have have cost me many friendships, although I've managed to start repairing at least some of them now, maybe most importantly ours. But none of this is an excuse, just an explanation, and it pains me that people have to suffer due to my problems with myself.

Please be patient with me, if you can.
