Does anybody listen to the old time stuff?
You know, the masters:Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon, Blind Blake, Ma Rainey, Lightnin' Hopkins, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, and on?
These cats MADE whatever it is you are listening too right now, like it or not.
I know some of those folks are more recent, but they are all important.
Appalachian Blues, Delta Blues, Texas Blues...its all good

I Like blues.
Especially Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters...
Modern blues like Popa Chubby is also great.
This music is so honest. Blues singers don't give a shit about the trend.
Like you said: it's all good.

Yeah, John Lee Hooker. I've an album or too. I tend to like stuff like Red House on Jimi Hendrix's Are You Experienced, though I'm still looking for some Howlin' Wolf...

i go nuts for muddy waters. especially this song called 'down south blues' its perfect and gorgeous. i just got a new 2cd of his thats just called muddy waters rollin' stone. its great. and i've found that blues music is really cheap compared to other cds. that 2cd i just got was only 11 which made me very happy. i don't really like the greatest hits of muddy waters that i have because i love the more subtle and mellow songs of his.
i first got into him after reading about him in some bios about zepplin and the beatles and rolling stones obviously. i was really curious that this one guy could be such a huge influence on those guys and other like jim morrison and bob dylan. i've just started reading the new muddy bio. it starts out something like this: muddy was havin' his after noon lay-by on the river bed shade when he got word that a white man was lookin' for him. but he smiled because it was for his music' i'm sure its going to be a great book too.
