Finally, a post of yours I can thank ;)

Just started part 2

People ask why I can't stand liberals and the MSNBC type crowd- listen as these jerk offs drool over weapons of war and sing the battle cry on the warpath to war. I also like how Pilger started out with Edward Bernays in part 1. Entire documentaries have been dedicated to that anti democratic propagandist.

EDIT- part 3 at the 6:25 mark Pilger is passively goading a liberal journalist as to why they are such idiots and she says "we were just reporting what the government said. Thats our job".

If that's the job of the media the government should simply put their own cameras in some Generals face and tell him to bullshit the nation. Cut out the middle man (reporter/journalist).

A telling quote from General Westmoreland-

"Vietnam was the first war ever fought without any censorship. Without censorship, things can get terribly confused in the public mind."

The thing I like about Pilger is that he attacks the liberal establishment as well as the right wing.

Great doc.

What's Pilger's political affiliation? I know that he sympathizes with the Bolivarian movement but that doesn't mean much.

He might be socialist, I think.

He is certainly a socialist, and he is the next best thing to a revolutionary. He definitely supports those rebelling against oppression and exploitation.

Yes, he called the Labor Party in Australia, the right wing.

He rips on Obama and surprisingly against supposed anti-war films like Platoon and Deer Hunter.

The man is a beast!

He's a big mate of Chomsky's, and regularly appears at Marxist conferences.

As part of UK ITV's charter, they have to provide a certain number of hours of news/documentary material per year, and they regularly show John's films. It's their last remaining excuse to say that are 'independent', so they are reluctant to cancel his films. However, to minimise the impact, they put his films out late at night, around 10:30 pm.

If anyone hasn't seen this one, then they should:

Part One of Ten.

It's called 'The War on Democracy' -- made in 2008, I think.

It's about the US government's war against the people of Central and South America, including Venezuela. If anything, it's better than the one above, posted in my OP.

You don't have to be a leftist to know that the Australian Labor Party is right wing but he does seem to be a socialist, even if not a revolutionary.

Did anyone catch the rabid right wing former CIA agent Clarridge near the end of War on Democracy?

How subtle was that admission?

Oh yea, Pilger is a socialist not sure if he's screaming revolution with an unsheathed sword pointed at the sky though. The video below is from socialism 2009 in San Fransisco. He's one well known journalist I can respect. We need hundreds of John Pilgers. (sorry for the wall of video)

Just finished watching the documentary. I thoroughly enjoyed War on Democracy and Truth and Lies in the War on Terror, and this one was no less enjoyable, though my blood did boil at several points when the injustices were laid at their most bare and the brazen liars unashamedly kept spinning their PR in the face of overwhelming evidence of the atrocities committed.

John Pilger is amazing, and we should all follow his example in keeping true to our principles instead of opportunistically bending the truth to material interests.
