"The best way to destroy the capitalist system is to debauch the currency."

Can't wait 'til I see the imperialist swines writhe in their own feces.

He also said history "vomited up Lenin and the Bolsheviks" in that same video :/

I do need to do more research on Hedges as I've been told that he's radicalized. But he needs to drop a lot of his liberal rhetoric. In the video he talks about "Inverted Totalitarianism", which seems like nothing more than a cheap way to associate Nazi Germany and the USSR (two states conservatives and liberals love to conflate) with the USA at the moment.

Comparing the US to the Nazi's isn't going to get us anywhere. There is more than enough to criticize about the US without making reference to any other nation. Instead of inverted totalitarianism we should be talking about corporate hegemony, as it is more clear now than ever that the US operates for corporations first and for everyone else a very distant second (the debate around tax cuts along with the first responder bill made that clear to everyone who isn't far right of center).

Well these videos are old so maybe there have been developments since.

Speaking of which to the OP: why do you always randomly start threads that just contain old youtube videos?

I was watching him on Democracy Now! A few nights ago and he pretty much came to the conclusion Liberalism is dead, explaining that the pillars have been destroyed and the only real solution coming from violence:rolleyes: I read a bit of his book "The Death of the Liberal"(I believe it is titled) and he seems to blame the tea party for being reactionary, while liberals fighting against and embracing too many corporatist ideas being counter-productive.
