I am a student who is interested both in socialism and in graphic design/propaganda posters. But... I am not very skilled at graphic design, especially on complex computer programs. Can someone recommend a cheap, easy-to-use software for creating propaganda posters?

I also highly recommend learning a scam for getting free photocopies.

InDesign is available for public use at a lot of university libraries etc. It's tricky at first, but it's what all the pros use for layout. If you don't like that one, check out OpenOffice which is a word processor (free). If you plan on printing from a different machine than you design on, always export to PDF to make sure the flyer copies over correctly.

You definitely shouldn't download a free program like uTorrent and then use it to download industry-standard Photoshop for free from a site like The Pirate Bay.

Any ideas for duplication? I have access to photocopier but it charges per copy. I've been looking at getting a used one but its expensive costing around €250 before anything else like toner, paper, etc.

Are you a member of a political party? If your not a senior member of one, then I don't see a point in buying a copier and toner etc...Im a member of the independent workers union and I can honestly say that between the whole Cork branch we have but one photocopier!

As for design, I'm pretty certain Photoshop can do it, but I'd much recommend InDesign, it's easier for posters, flyers, pamphlets, etc.
As for printing: Get into some official sort of student body organ and snatch free university copies if you can, it's what many leftists do around here. Other than that, check out some copy shops, sometimes they are quite cheap (some might monitor your activity though, so beware). Talk to local leftists if possible and ask where they do their stuff.
