Brocore/moshcore sucks. Check out:
- In My Eyes
- Youth of Today
- Bane
- Good Clean Fun
- Gorilla Biscuits
- Champion
- Look Back and Laugh
- Refused
- Vitamin X
- 7 Seconds
But you'd probably like stuff like Earth Crisis instead.

What's wrong with sober people? I choose to stay in control of myself and not inject poison in me. If you really have a problem with straightedge why did you post here?

These bands are all good. Especially Gorilla Biscuits. But Earth Crisis are hardline. Ew.
OP: I'd definitely recommend Slapshot

Seriously people, no Minor Threat mention yet?
Also:

oh and YoT and GB are awesome >:3
If you want some serious hardline, borderline ridiculous metalcore shizzle, check Bleeding Through.

I'm so mad that this exists (inb4 "Hitler was Veggie!!11"), but yeah, you're right.

The singer kicked my mate in the head, by accident, and later, the police refused to believe him that he'd gotten the gaping gash in his face "at a punk show".
But, yeah, sweet fucking band. I saw them in Toronto, and everyone from Toronto thought they were too cool to dance.

I didn't mention Minor Threat because
1) too obvious, but mostly
2) Straight-edge was created by a militant 45-second song from a person who eventually thought a little beer and weed here and there isn't a bad thing. So Minor Threat = bunch of stoners, amirite?
Just kidding... somewhat. Not dissing straightedge though. I was for 8 years.

It doesn't really matter, dude. If you like their music that's what really counts. I'd listen to a band if they were conservatives. I mean, unless they're Nazis like Skrewdriver or something....

No love for Burzum?:'(

Some black metal is alright but Burzum is really bad, imo. Even without the Nazism, Burzum wouldn't be a band I like.
Dag Nasty are a great suggestion to the OP, but I don't know if they're straightedge? They had associations with straight edge acts, one being that a member of them was from Minor Threat.

Don't go with the tough-guy shit.
Verse
Have Heart
Bane
Minor Threat
7 Seconds
Youth of Today
H2O
Fuck Throwdown, Casey Jones, Liferuiner etc. etc.
But you shouldn't listen to a band just because they're edge. A lot of the times they get too into the sense of sober superiority and become fucking elitist. They really start to act like they're in need of a joint.:thumbup1:
EDIT: And if you base your likes on whether or not a band is sober, you'll probably miss out on bands like Leftover Crack just because of their name. Which would suck because they're great.

I don't like Leftover Crack (his voice irritates me). But I also listen to alot of bands that aren't straightedge. I just like listening to music that suits my personal ideals. It also helps for when anti-sxe people try to get me to drink or smoke, I politely refuse and they get all pissed at me and keep asking and then I get pissed. I'll give any music a try, SXE or not but sometimes I just feel like listening to some hardcore SXE. Not hardline though.

You insinuated that people who do drugs are 1. not in control of themselves and 2. that they are "injecting poison" into themselves. Not only is that very inaccurate but it is judgy as fuck.

They are both true though. "Drugs", especially the more common ones such as alcohol or nicotine, are toxic. The "not in control part" is a bit tricky. If it refers to drug users being not in control ALL OF THE TIME and per se, it's obviously bullshit. If it refers to a heavily addicted or a drunk or tripping person, I dare say it's not so much of a stretch.
I'm not edge by the way.

I just listened to a few of their songs (I've never heard them before) and they seem like they're half serious, half joking. As in, make music seriously but with deliberately corny lyrics.
Like, "if you're smoking in here you'd better be on fire", lol.

You don't see how they're making outrageous lyrics which are obviously satorizing over-the-top edge types, and at other times are just goofy bro shit.

"oh my god, carl got laid"
