Over the past few weeks, I've been doing basic historical research the history of the Soviet Union, mostly on my own for my own understanding of the subject. Some of this has been on Wiki, because I find it's a good place to get general summaries and find other sources. What immediately became apparent is that as soon as you cross the Iron Curtain into subjects about Soviet or Eastern bloc history, politics etc., the quality of Wikipedia deteriorates immensely in the English language Wiki.
Now, I've thought about this for a while, and it's occurred to me that perhaps as a community, we can do something about this. I'm sure there are a couple Russian speakers on this sight, and I know for a fact that there are many people intimately acquainted with Soviet history. I think we should do a favor to our less informed comrades, as well as the general public who might be interested in the subject, if we pooled together and made an effort to improve Wikipedia.
Increasing the knowledge base might go a long way to demystifying the entire subject.
