It seems to me the majority of people on this site are teenage boys. Like myself although I'm 17 and I've talked to a lot of 13/14/15 year olds.

Not really, no. I was sort of making a point about how it wasn't a big thing. I think to people your age the events of the revolutionay wave after WW1 seem like something out of history books. The generation who linked us to those events has now passed on. To people of my age and older though, it was something that people we knew, people in our own families ( for example my grandfather who died when I was 22, so I knew him as an adult had joined the CP in 1920).

Plus I met a woman whose father had been expelled from the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party by Stalin. I greatly regret that I missed a chance to meet Trotsky's wife.
I once got into an argument with an old SPer named Sam Estrin. In the middle of the argument, I said, "Sam, you're such a fucking Menshevik!" Sam replied, "Damn right I'm a Menshevik! I joined the Menshivik Party in 1910."
On the other side of the fence, when I was an undergraduate at NYU, Kerensky was teaching at Columbia. I regret never have seen him, just so I could say I had seen him.

I am somewhat curious the drop off in membership as the ages go up. I wonder if it is a reflection of how many people leave the movement altogether or just get sick of revleft (as I'm sure it's not a mortality thing). Or is revleft perpetually growing, seeded by ever more young members every year?

I may be totally off, but I would assume maybe it has more to do with the general demographics of internet forum users? I'm sure it varies from place to place and organization to organization, but in my experience, middle aged and older people tend to be much better represented among broadly 'left' groupings than they are on revleft (albeit still generally a minority).

I think perhaps us growing up right when the USSR collapsed, on the other hand, probably had a negative effect on the number of people born around 1975-85 becoming leftists. Whatever the socialist bloc was, it's defeat was a huge blow to leftism.
