I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, however, I think it's urgent that this be promulgated amongst comrades. Free Speech Radio News, an independent, leftist radio station may very well shut down on December 20 after ten years of broadcasting. yes, that's ten years of broadcasting through the lies and bullshit of Bush and Blair. I'm not affiliated with this station in anyway, I just feel that it is EXTREMELY important for their to be independent media at so crucial a time in history. The lies of capitalist media must be exposed and the starvation, torture and barbarity that have endured since the creation of Bush's new world order( I mean that term in the non-paranoid, non-conspiracy theory sense)must be made public. please donate whatever you can.

And, of course, don't forget to donate to revleft so that it can continue to run.

This is depressing news.

FSRN relies for most of its funding from the Pacifica network, and the history of its sordid demise is chronicled by an ex-programmer here:

Actually FSRN has managed to stay clear of a lot of the major client's morass and produce quality works. I'm worried they are waking up too late to the realization that their model of depending on Pacifica is no longer viable, and they are going straight to the listeners.

Whoa, it looks like they made it. At least for December.
