Uuh, dragons...

Still, great news! But hopefully it'll be more like Morrowind than Oblivion in regards to story and atmosphere.

I thought this had been in the works for some time. It's supposed to be the an-inhouse alternative to the Gambryo engine which the previous elder scrolls were based on. I'm interested in seeing what they've added to it, but I think I'm going to wait a bit before trying it out to see what others reactions are. The Gamebryo formula in my mind works very effectively, so it's likely to be something very specific to the elder scroll series.

Part V of the awesome "The Elder Scrolls" RPGs, this time playing in Skyrim, the icy realm of the Nord barbarians. TES games are known for their open world and complete free gameplay, first-person sword fights, innovative character developement, tons of locations and side quests to explore, their unique landscapes and cool lore and the high possibility that new characters will get brutally slaughtered by the very first rat or mudcrab who crosses their way.

Well, they used to be awesome like that till TES IV Oblivion came and it went unoriginal and average. Newbies can even kill rats and mudcrabs at once. :crying:
There are still some awesome mods for Oblivion, though, and the open gameplay is great as always.

I liked Oblivion's openness and big world but disliked the units levelling along with you. I prefer an independent world. I also prefer multiplayer (mmorpg), though I understand elder scrolls is not a mmorpg 'genre'. But still, I am looking forward to it.

That said I found the video pretty cheesy.

Yeah the leveling was ridiculous getting mugged by bandits in full deadric armor was bizarre.

I have to conclude that everyone calling for a return to Morrowind must also like raking themselves across the chest with rusted daggers and bashing their foreheads into nail beds.
