The century egg. It's supposedly a Chinese delicacy. It is defiantly something I wanna try before I die.

I'm not really one to try foods I consider "strange" just for its own sake. I need better than "it's not disgusting." Apparently cow heart is delicious; I'd try that.

lol wtf is that? What type of egg?

Its ether a chickens egg or a duck egg.
despite the name its not really 100 years old, it has to do with the egg being boiled, heavily salted, and left to sit for 2 weeks.

Which brings me to my contribution: flan!

Eh...Delicacy?
Only if that's what you'd call stinky toufu.
It tastes pretty good if you're used to it.
I'm really interested in trying the fried pepper though, I love spicy food.

This is called Lanzhou Beef Noodles, a traditional food of the Chinese Hui Muslims.
It may not seem like much, but eating it is a truly spiritual experience. Yet they say you may never find the authentic noodle anywhere outside it's town of origin, Lanzhou. So this summer I will travel to Lanzhou in Western China, and try the authentic version of it.

I was just thinking of Khao Soi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khao_soi) but what I'm really craving right now is some baozi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baozi), especially xiaolongbao (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiaolongbao). Umai!

My friend went to Thailand and brought me some to try. I don't care what anyone thinks, they are de-li-ci-o-us. They are usually sprayed with sea water while roasting, so that gives them the salty crunchy taste. Kinda like animal snacks. I'm actually thinking of catching a few next spring and preparing 'em myself. What a munchie over Premier League football game on the TV, combined with beer!

Cig kofte ('cig' pronounced chee and meaning raw). Raw ground beef kneaded with spices and bulgur for a length of time, eaten cold and raw, although it's apparently claimed that the kneading process and the chillies 'cook' the meat. An absolutely delicious appetiser. Recommended as a starter if you're ever in a Turkish restaurant which has it.

I don't really know of many exotic veggie foods, but I'm sure I could make veggie versions of anything that sounded appetising (except the raw meat, but that doesn't sound remotely appetising, so I'd pass on that regardless of whether I ate meat).

Haha, my hometown was famous for its various kinds of baozi, including xiaolongbao. That's what my family would cook in every single occasion. Eventually I grew sick of it

I've eaten roasted ants before. It was...interesting to say the least. My dad on the other hand has eaten roasted tarantulas... Bugs and such must be popular food choices in SE Asia.

I tried the grasshoppers when I was young----We had those huge ones with legs strong enough to cut open skin. They didn't taste that good.
I don't know how they would cook them in South Asia, Maybe they do a better job.

i had some (for most dutchies) weird shit in my time, i'm of the opinion you should never pass given the opurtunity as it might never present it self again so i'm always open too try more given the chance.
some stuff i can come up with that i already had:
wildboar from the spanish mountains (so good the smell cured me from my vegetarianism, for realz)
bizon (fucking awsome)
moose (o.k.)
something made of reindeer blood (nice)
bear (ok but not worth killing a bear for, tasted like pig pate)
whale (intresting, tastes like the mamal it is, not like fish)
rotten shark (horrific)
haggis (suprisingly nice)
roasted goat head (pretty good although the sucking out of the eyes made me almost puke, i did pass on that one)
fried insects of diferent sorts (grasshopers where nice, mealworms where boring)
bullballs (chopped up to an sort of meatloaf, nice)
birdsnest soda (bland)

Kimchi is good on meats, but I'm sure there's other options for it. Wouldn't recommend this (http://kimchimamas.typepad.com/kimchi_mamas/2007/06/kimchi_juice_an.html), though.

i`ve had a few roasted guinea pigs. there isn't much meat on them so you basically clean the carcass, cook it and eat it with the meat still on the bones. it kind of tastes like rabbit but you have to eat it like chicken wings. if you're from western culture the first time you eat it you have to get over the fact you're eating what could be someone's cute pet but its pretty tasty when it's seasoned with chili peppers and other spicy stuff. i've also eaten ceviche, which is raw, spicy fish that's been marinated in lime juice and chilis, and i've eaten at least 10 different kinds of maize.

I don't really consider moose to be "exotic", but that's probably because I grew up eating it all my life.
I've eaten pretty much anything that walks on four legs and has antlers (deer, caribou, elk, moose etc.). Add to that bear, seal, whale, various shark species, etc.
