As reported here, baltimoresun.com/business/sns-ap-eu-spain-airport-closures,0,7741845.story, the Spanish air controllers have staged a sick out. Granted these workers are very, very well compensated, it seems to me as though it can only be for the better. Granted they are very well off and certainly don't struggle like many others do, it seems like these pushes back against the governments austerity plans would trickle down (sorry I sound like Reagan) to lower classes involved in the airline industry. Surely, any move towards privatization will do nothing to improve working conditions.

I agree, unfortunately the Spanish military has stepped in to take over the affected airports.

They are threatening arrest if the sick out continues.

Work or be shot. The military are brandishing pistols- an obvious case of the bourgeoisie using the state to keep the system going.
José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the Spanish prime minister, described the wildcat strike by 2,400 air traffic controllers as "intolerable" and that the government could not accept "the blackmail of the public."
And in the USA we had this after Reagan clamped down-

Why does no one do a forum search before posting threads anymore?
There is already a thread on this.
Never mind, seems that the other one is OI. Although I don't see why there really has to still be two threads about it, whatever.
Secondary edit (this time bold AND italic):
Yea, this thread should not exist. I would like to re-express my disdain for the lazy creator of this thread.
