I don't really understand what you mean by a new manifesto. The communist manifesto is a piece of writing which defines what we as communists want to achieve. It explains society and how we can change it. There is nothing in it which can be altered. Communism is a political and scientific philosophy. You can not alter it.

However, i do think it is important for the movement to create pieces of writing which outlines how we will attempt to achieve those objectives in the 21st century. Maybe if a new manifesto was to be written, it should be something which follows on from the communist manifesto and talks more about the problems we face now.

The Manifesto stays as it is! No changes, thank you!

Communist doctrine should allow for revisions of interpretations and amendments to guidelines, but as far as references go, Das Kapital and the Manifesto are the veritable lifelines that string our diverse Leftist ideologies together.

Of course, we might benefit from an updated gameplan.

This programme was written in the midst of a world revolutionary situation where by the first world war
was seen as the death agony of capitalism.
This contains Trotsky's approach after the decline of the third international.
There is much in it, but the main point I think is to learn to be adaptive to present day needs.
