Alice in Chains did some great songs about addiction. Actually, a lot of grunge bands sang about addiction because a lot of them were addicted to heroin. (Slightly gutted someone else posted Heroin by the VU before I had the cance to haha.)

Serbian rap group "Prti Bee Gee" has the most controversial drug themed lyrics when it comes to Serbo-Croatian speaking area , and almost every song speaks about trips , getting high etc... Their music was dubbed "heroin rap". The main rhyme creator of the group was found dead one morning in his bed , after many years of life full of alcohol , drugs , and cigarette overdose.
