Glasgow DIY legend (disputable ie my mate ie nobody's heard of him) Hansei has challenged me to a rap battle this Friday. Three minute rounds, no OT.

Not a joke. If you think i'm going to destroy him you're right.

What are your experiences of rap battling you middle class high school kids you

Video is a distinct possibility. I'll most likely be suiting up for it.

I second the call for a video. This should be epic.

My names sam b and im known on the street
im dirty and downtodden, and a dialectic whos hard to beat

They call me a radical, they say i preach revolution, but lemme say this shit in my defence

All i did was talk alot of fuking sense

Now stop with your verbal dioahreah, its stinkin up the place
Might make me lose it and leave my print mark on your face

Cos my rhymes are so sweet, you better get outa here if you diabetic
ill kill you slow and painfully, like dying from bullet wounds turned septic

So this was a warning, better turn and leave
before i make you my *****, and turn your pussyhole into a wizzards sleeve.

What are your experiences of rap battling you middle class high school kids you My experience of rap battles is reading the occasional cringeworthy thread on here dedicated to them where various members who would probably choke up with stagefright if asked to perform even half of what they wrote in front of people type awkward rhymes at each other. Until someone with sense posts the lyrics to "if you're happy and you know it" or something similar and the whole thing becomes an exercise in mockery.

In my last year of school, all the lame suckers had this period where they would stand around in little circles, beatboxing and rapping to each other. Looking at them now, and then looking back, it is hilarious. I wish I'd have filmed them, just to embarrass them.

The point is that you will suck, and probably not in a funny way. White kids doing rap battles for giggles isn't funny, and actual rap requires talent through a lot of practice.

Do something else: play scrabble, or hangman or something.

Yeah, and me. I've never met you Sam_b, but you really don't strike me as the kind of person that has rap battles.

Who?

I've never been in one myself but I did get the chance to witness a pretty decent rap battle last Friday, I went to this local show and this guy, who I guess was associated with the band, was up against some kid from the audience. It was actually rather entertaining and they were both very talented (well as far as middle class high school kids are concerned).

I once had a rap battle (we were allowed to write it down quickly before performance, so perhaps it's not a rap battle in the strictest sense). It was deadly serious. I thought I did rather well, and I had the original thing written down somewhere, but I can't find it. Good luck bro, keep dem rhymes fresh!:)

i remember the days in 6th grade when i thought i was the shit just because i listened to eminem and would freestyle battle my friends with simplistic rhymes about guns and *****es - stuff i really knew nothing about. those were the good ol' days

flow is more important than content, and words don't necessarily have to rhyme, just have similiar vowels in the same place.

but please post the video here

London Posse, (old) Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip and Roots Manuva are good.

Thanks for proving my point. It's probably something in the water.
