I would like to predict the next war by solely using this picture to portray my guess:

Vietnam 2
just kidding. I doubt the US is going to wage war on NK or China any time soon. We're muddling in the middle east and have reds creeping in the south!

This wont end well for America. They're wearing their forces pretty thin as it is.

Can any of the "wars" we've waged really be classified as "wars" in the first place? Against who? The "terrorists"? HAH!

Yeah because we would wage war with China.

American imperial suicide would be an amazing sight to behold. I don't think any empire in history has really jumped face first off a cliff, at least not off the top of my head.

What reason do we have to believe that this would be tantamount to suicide on america's part? It wasnt the case on their last incursion.
I think if there was a Korean war 2 it would end in another stalemate. I think China is as disinterested in war with America as much as America is disinterested in war with China. I think secretly China would welcome Korean unification on the US/ROK's terms because it would become South Korea's burden not theirs.

Insane McCain lives up to his name.
He goes on like the last 'Regime Change' America tried was a roaring success... well, I guess it was if you're Haliburton, Blackwater or some other faceless contractor.

After the wikileaks i've seen today, I'd say Iran has a pretty good chance of being the most likely potential target.

Probably, but it would be a bloody hollow victory. Even if the US did win a war with Iran, the ensuing occupation would be a monumental challenge. The military would simply collapse under the pressure and some nasty ass bastard would likely come to power. The world would be much more stable if the US just kept itself to its fucking self.

We always win, even if we lose.
Vietnam? One big factory for Western-consumer goods at the moment.

its also in our interests to let the US use up its military capabilities.

Is the Iranian version of capitalism independent of the western bourgeoisie? Pretty much any nation who's markets aren't open to the western bourgeoisie are targets for military aggression. I think it may be that simple.

Unless it's Military Budget sent the economy spiralling into the ground, I don't think the US could use up its military capabilities. The lower classes aren't a finite resource, they will simply keep churning out little soldiers for Uncle Sam to ram into the meat grinder.

Many people say that.
I don't think so, I think Iran will end up how Egypt did.
They'll settle it diplomatically.

No they are not.
This is a common misconception about Iran.

Ever heard of Vietnam?
Sure, the specter of the draft is always there because of the nature of state (especially American) violence and coercion, but I don't see it as plausible in an instance like this today.

The "Next War", although I vehemently oppose and loathe them, will be a Civil War, in Iraq. Don't be surprised to see a regime change over there within the next five years.

More immediately, Vietnam was a shot in the fucking arm for people like Bell Helicopters and other military contractors. Just think how many choppers were sold to the federal government for Vietnam.

It takes a lot of time and money to turn some young adult into a soldier its not like you can hand them a gun and send them off to the front in train wagons anymore.
I am not sure on the timespan required but i believe its in the order of at least 3-4 months for cannon fodder to make a specialist it takes a lot more time.

Egypt used to be against US policies. Now it is a US run government.
I think the Same will happen with Iran, Iran will become a US run government, without Regime change.
Which is why it's important to get the Left in Iran to Revolt, in the interests of the working class.

Alright, your right there can't be a draft because it so unpopular.
So we will just use poor people that cant afford college to join the military and have us pay to get them to join. Yeah, this isn't a draft.
