i've read the book dreams of a rebel (or something similar..i've read this book in german..) and i recognized that there is something wrong with the picture when he is dead. If you look at some other pictures where you can see him dead on the table with the americans around him (the best is if you have a picture where you can see him from above) you see another body next to him. i was just wondering because I don't know who this guy was. i've already asked some of my friends and they said that it was a guy called "Kuba".. but i can't believe it..
please help..

Sorry.. I don't know. I've seen his picture when he was dead, but I've never noticed a second body. You think you could scan a picture or provide a link to it? I'd like to see this for myself..

For whatever my opionion is worth, in my book. 'A Revolutionary Life' by John Lee Anderson. Shows this picture, you show. It says that the nun's thought he looked like Jesus Christ. And that local women clipped locks of his hair. And to this day keep them as good luck charms, and pray for Che's soul on the Day of the Dead. And my opionion is this is some kind of individual. To invoke such such a reverence, from the local population and the religious. This is the type of awe that is reserved for saints. But as I look I do not see another body? If you look, Che seems very thin, almost too much so to be himself. But his asthima has wore him, when I see this I think of someone who has given every last ounce, of his strength for the cause. Who "Kuba' is I do not know. But I would be curious.

I thought the man lying beneath ernesto was an other guy that fought with him in Boliva and who had also been killed by the bolivian/American soldiers. The bodies of the dead men were put in the laundry shed of the nearby hospital.

When I was reading A Revolutionary life I always thought he was still alive in that picture.

How long after he was killed was the picture taken as I cant see any bullet holes on his body?

Yeah, plus I heard that when he was to be killed. He was shot up several times below the waist to cause him severe pain, and was then shot to be killed. That way the bullett holes could be covered with his pants so it wouldn't be obvious that he was tortured with pain before his death.

The final bullet that killed him hit his thorax filling his lungs with blood.

Every book that i've read says that he was shot in both legs, then the lower abdomen, and then a guard put a bullet through his heart.

The photo was taken by Freddy Alborta, a Bolivian photographer flown in the day after Che was killed. Alborta was well connected with the Bolivian military, having been photographer for a Bolivian President. He shot arpind 100 photos in a half hour period. His series of photos have been compared to both Mantegna's Dead Christ and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Professor Tulp.

From what I read, the reason he was shot multiple times was because they wanted them to look lke battle wounds, to make his death seem like he was killed in battle.

yeah i know..."dont shoot from here and up,this man shall be looked killed in a battle" something

Che was captured with another fighter, bolivian guy, Simon Cuba (great name Simon, like Simon Bolivar, and Cuba, well, like Cuba, and he was only remembered for fighting and being captured with Che), but i don't know if that's his body

P.S. Guevara-Marley, isn't your name Veronika?
