On the day the NATO occupiers exceeded the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, Die Linke's de facto party leader spoke in a weekly address on terrorist threats and the upcoming German federal budget. The war was aimed at ostensibly combating terrorism, but has only fed the flames. Meanwhile, the Merkel government is off to rescue private banks left and right, not to mention buddying up with plutocratic fat cats, while of course cutting benefits.

He basically says that the wrong policy in regards to terrorism was pursued all along, that the war in Afghanistan and the Bundeswehr involvment only increased acceptance of terrorism and made Germany become a target. Instead of military violence a juster economic system and dialogue between the cultures is needed.

Then he talks about the government cutting benefits to fill the gaps created by wasting millions to rescue national and foreign banks. Those receiving benefits have to pay for the banks while the latter don't have to pay any more. He concludes that we need to protest and fight against this anti-social developement and that this is exactly what Die Linke stands and fights for.
