I think it wasn't becuse it was by no means a classles society. Wich after all is the main deffinition of communisum. As well as it being a dictatorship of the communist party instead of the prolitarian.

The Soviet Union wasn't socialist unless by socialism you mean state monopoly capitalism. It was the dictatorship of the Red Bureaucracy, as Bakunin predicted the "workers' state" would be.

I think that you pretty well hit the nail on the head. The USSR was no more socialist than the USA.

Bollocks. The only state owned (collectivised) programmes in the USSR from 1924-1954 were agrigulture as gariculture was the least productive to the building of th Soviet national GDP. All industry was owned by the proletariat. What's the matter with you people?

The USSR was a socialist nation from 1924-1954 possible even into the sictees. By 1970 the Soviet Union was a complete capitalist society. Put down your Anti-Stalin paser for a minute Kahn and do some research.

DEFORMED WORKERS STATE!!!! STATE CAPITALISTS!!! Trot and anarchist nonsense.

You lads are like whiny little toddlers that did not get your way so you make up bullshit to slander the victor.

Perhaps you should just have a fun-pop and play in the sand box and leave the politics to us.

I actually agree with you, I would say Lenin instated a very socialist economy etc. perhaps I should have said, that, it only became blatant capitalism after Lenin's death...

The blatant capitalism started well after Lenin's death, about 45 years after his death actually.

This is untrue. In December 1918 the Bolsheviks set up a Supreme Economic Council and started nationalizing industries, putting them under the control of this centralized council. In late June the Sovnarkom passed a law nationalizing all remaining industries. They were controlled by the state, not the proletariat. The factory committees were fist subordinated to the state and then, starting in March 1918, abolished.

Controlling does not mean owning.
