View Full Version : I'm sick and I feel like shit

I woke up for work at 2am and had a sore throat- I felt awake but out of it. I drink some tea and surf the web before going in and I start to feel feverish and it wasn't from the tea. I go out to the car and go to open the handle and it breaks off (freezing rain and such)- I start to get a headache because everything is going to shit at two o'clock in the morning- I went around to the passenger side and couldn't get that door open either as it was frozen shut and I ended up denting the door panel trying to get it open- not a good start to a day. I ended up picking up a shift on top of all this later in the day.
I don't know if it's a sinus infection- a bad cold or the flu. This fucking sucks. I get sick every single November some time after the 15th every single fucking year. Outside of this time frame I don't have so much as a fucking allergy. Two shirts are soaking wet with snot- it goes from stuffy nose and painfully clogged sinuses to one nostril gushing. My eyes are fucking watering now- my throat hurts my ears are ringing and I have chills mainly because it was 38 degrees in our house because the heat was off.

Fuck this, I don't have insurance so I'm hoping that this is just a cold and not a bacterial infection.

'cool story' comments will get an automatic fuck you with teeth. None of that shit.

Actually, if it's more or less the exact same time every year, it could potentially be seasonal allergies. Your symptoms would be much stronger than mine, but it's not impossible. Too bad it happened right after the snow, though.

Yeah, I don't think it's alergies though because I've been in so many different locations when it's happened. It only lasts a week if that.

my head hurts now- I am going to go lay down and read to make the headache worse.

Same goes for my seasonal allergies, although to be honest, it sounds more like a relatively mild flu. In any case, if I were your doctor, I'd prescribe orange juice, lots of water and a space heater. Chicken noodle soup never hurts, of course.

 Thanks

I think it is mild flu. As I have that stupid flu headache now where my whole face starts to ache. I just ate a grapefruit, am drinking water, had 'No Chicken Noodle Soup' earlier and am heating my bedroom right now so that I can sleep.

If you have fever, but you don't cough, odds are you have a bacterial infection. I think I had one a few months and it lasted for 2 fucking weeks, half that time I had fever unless I took medication. Make sure you have some fever reducing drugs if that's the case.

I'm so glad I live in a country with a national health service. Why the fuck doesn't the US have one?

I'm feeling slightly ill too. Seems to be a sinus infection. My head was fucking killing me last night. Get well soon :)

I'm also glad that we have the NHS. It would really suck having to choose between getting medicine I couldn't afford or staying ill.

I got sick like 2 months ago, and I still feel like I have a mild cold. My nose runs like a faucet, but other than that I'm not too bad. Thought I'd share.

Yeah it can get bloody noisy where i live, too.

(If you meant 'noses', no harm in seeing a doc.)

I always get pain in my nuts when I wear my girlfriend's jeans.

Is it a deep ache or a sharp pain?

I dunno it's just really uncomfortable, I actually mentioned it to my doctor when I took my balls to see him once bc I was scared I had ball cancer but it turned out it was just like a cyst of some shit, anyway I said that when I wear super skinny jeans they kinda hurt and he said yeah that can happen if there is constant pressure on them. I guess I just got big nuts.
