Sarah Palin choosing sides in the conflict between North and South Korea–and picking Kim Jong Il?
Couldn’t be. But there she is on Glenn Beck’s radio show saying just that: “This speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously we’ve gotta stand with our North Korean allies.”
The host helpfully corrects her, “South Korean allies.”
I wish he hadn't corrected her -- I mean, there's a good chance she would have gone on talking for a good ten minutes about supporting the North.

That she could win any kind of political nomination makes me want to jam my face in a wood chipper.

The quote in full:
Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we're all sitting around asking, 'Oh no, what are we going to do,' and we're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies – we're bound to by treaty....Clearly, based on the preceding comments, this was merely a slip of the tongue and Palin intended to say 'South Korean allies'. Not something a politician wants to do on a regular basis, but certainly not evidence that she doesn't know the difference between North and South Korea

Isn't this kind of part of the sexism the right in America is reaching out at? Women politicians have to be pretty or sexy or attractive or what have you to get in office it seems maybe.

Mossynoonman is right. I can't believe you're making me defend the likes of this Palin clown.
Can the sexism ("airhead", "barbie", "sexy"). Politicians make mistakes, it has nothing to do with her being a woman. Nobody uses these kinds of terms to describe fools like W - frankly, if we said things like this about people like Michelle Bachelet when she slipped up this would not be cool. It's like calling say another politician something else equally irrelevant like "that flame, Haider" and reinforcing a stereotype. Palin exploits her appearance to her advantage, sure, but that's no reason to keep it up here.
The next person who uses a sexist stereotype is going to get an infraction for prejudicial language.
