The march in London has been split into two with one group of i reckon a couple thousand being kettled in. It seems this group broke into a police van and stole body armor and riot shields :thumbup1:

Has someone already started complaining about ungrateful students and protesters breaking shit? That's pretty routine when things like this happen.

On a BBC article they got a picture of students protecting a police van from vandals. Yeah, the news is going to once again say the "violent" demonstrators are an extreme minority and that the vast majority are peaceful demonstrators.

Was great in Bristol today. Thousands (about 3,000) of students turned out in the city center including many college students, way exceeding expectations. Lots of kettling going on which I got caught up in a couple of times lol. Some managed to dodge their way past when a group of us arrived and went in between the police lines causing a charge out. We came from the Student Union building which we and a few hundred others stormed after they tried to block our way in. Bristol Uni students have gone into occupation there - when I left to counter the kettling it seemed like they would release a statement of no confidence in the union leadership and call AGM. College students have also gone into occupation at one of their buildings I understand.
The police were pretty brutal. They weren't messin' around, they got very violent. I saw 15 year old kids being beaten and shit by police. They were way out of order. The protests were all completely non-violent besides a couple of lobbed fireworks.
Oh and the UWE occupation is still going. We'll be here until at least Friday.

Or that the protests were violent.
Indeed. In reality I don't think violence towards inanimate objects really counts...

Scabs and collaborators usually see a fate much worse than the enemy they are assisting. Unfortunately this rarely seems to be the case anymore.

At my uni the cops were out in massive force. There were probably half as many cops at the event as there were students, very bizarre sight.

Those girls protecting the van are just bourgeoisie hippies. Seriously, there was little interest in lots of things happening until violence occured, and besides, look at the police behaviour anyway. They'll always split people by having violent collaborationists and infiltrators, why not just kick some arse instead of splitting the crowd? That'd render the tactic very pointless on the police's behalf as it creates a genuine riot instead of splitting peaceniks and it'd also show the potential there is in the whole thing to show displeasure on what is actually going on
