Large quantities of alcohol have encouraged this post, but for very good reason I post outside of the 'drunk' thread... I just received some horrible news today. My younger brother, and incidentally probably my best friend on the planet, just got charged as a "principal" in a home invasion and murder.

Uggh Past couple of days have been a wreck. Thanks to Psycho for removing the link. Obviously, I wasn't thinking clearly. Not much prepares you for this kind of thing. The kid's always been a bit of a little punk, but never violent. Anyway, he wasn't actually the "trigger man," but he was there when it happened. I dunno what he's gonna plead, but if I had to give any advice it'd be just cop to whatever and testify against anybody the state wanted him to. This thing was orchestrated by somebody else as well; in fact he never went inside the building as everything went down...
What a fucking idiot he is. I talked to a friend the other day from back home, and he's all, "Well, looks like if you wanna see him anytime soon you'll be visiting him in state pen." I basically just said, "Fuck that. If anything, the only reason I'd visit him is to punch him in his stupid fucking head."

If it's a sure thing that he'll do time, he probably shouldn't testify against anyone. It's easy to say "no snitching, period," but at the same time, if he's going to the same place as the other people who were involved, then that's really not a reputation he's going to want to have.
The fucked up thing is that if the article is factually correct, then in my opinion the whole thing was morally justified.
