Violence against Violence

I've found that many people refuse to resort violence because they view it as one of the tools of the capitalist oppressors, and they say that they would not stoop to their level. I believe it's kind of ridiculous to say such a thing, for the fact that violence is one of the few successful ways to actually get a struggle noticed. Perhaps you can convince me otherwise?

Violence is a tool. There are situations in which violence is appropiate, and there are situations in which it is not. Absolute stances on violence can only be wrong.
