Hi friends,
im excited to meet some folks, im down for organizing and eating good green chile from my fun state of new mexico. I am a poor working class student who grew up in an abusive alcoholic family,im in recovery from domestic violence, interested in transforming and abolishing prisons and challenging how we think about violence. I have been influenced mostly by Angela Y. Davis. Im down with the IWW and CIW. more to come if you want!

Welcome :)
Forgive my ignorance, what is the CIW?

The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) is a migrant farmworker organization out of Immokalee, Florida. They have won major pay agreements and working conditions agreements from growers and corporations such as Mcdonalds.

I worked on their Taco Bell campaign back when I first started radicalizing - they had a big cross-country tour planned but it was called off because 9/11 happened.

I'm also a fan of the CIW though only tangentially involved.
I attended a demonstration at a Smith's last Thanksgiving. I was the only one aside from the organizers. :(

I'm sorry to hear about such a bad background but I'm glad you rose above and decided to educate yourself. So welcome comrade! Do you have any specific tendency you can identify yourself with?
