I so love this, especially as I hate the Republican mythological urban legends.

Doesn't Parenti have a good critique of American reactionary mythology as well? Where's RadioRaheem when you need him?

Funny, but thunderf00t is better.
Also, I'm not sure if this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5KVhxib4H4&NR=1) is a pisstake or serious.

Another story disturbed me quite much.
It was about French politicians visiting an American aircraft carrier and complaining about it, then the US captain of it starts to lecture them about the incredible power of the aircraft carrier and they go silent and that was kinda the point.
It's stories not done with humour but with some kind of overstressed masculinity. They are disturbing me.

Isn't he that reactionary, authoritarian, islamophobic pseudointellectual with a voice like Lloyd Grossman?

That sounds more like Pat Condell, who came out as a UKIP supporter.

Yeah, not to mention the fact that they rely on emotive military worship is quite scary. Though even the ones without the hideous machismo are off putting. This thread has put me in mind of the one that does the rounds before each Presidential election with the very sensible restaurant owner discovering that his employees are planning to vote for Obama/Kerry/Gore so he decides to demonstrate to them why "socialism" doesn't work. He gets them to pool their tips and they all think this will be great and at first the lazier ones are getting more but soon people are hardly getting any tips at all as nobody makes any effort because increasing effort leads to no direct payoff for themselves/ The story ends with the employees agreeing that socialism does not work and duly enlightened they all go out to vote for McCain/Bush/Dole.
The funny thing is, that quite apart from the obvious stupidity in there is that many if not most restaurants in the real world do have their employees pool their tips so as to avoid a disparity between kitchen and service staff and the outcome is people putting more effort in, sometimes even adding their own money to make up for a shortfall because nobody wants to look like the deadweight.
