Found when looking up what the word 'troll' actually meant:

RevLeft

This site is full of pseudo-intellectual 18 year old Marxists and Anarchists, who advocate violent revolution and RAAAAAAAAAGE at sexism, and yet spend all their time talking about porn and /b/ in ChitChat, and who work at McDonalds. There are many common ways to troll RevLeft. Given the extraordinarily sectarian nature of the far left, and its historical and theoretical basis in shit nobody cares about (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Shit_nobody_cares_about), the denizens of RevLeft are very vulnerable to trolling.

Mention anything about Pol Pot (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Pol_Pot) in a positive light. This will actually cause more of a shitstorm than attacking any other leader, since these teenage revolutionaries (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Faggots) know that in Pol Pot's regime, every single one of them would be dead. Ex.: "Pol Pot was a hero of communism! He was the only one who actually brought justice to the capitalists!"
Get involved in the endless debate between Stalinism (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Russia) and Trotskyism (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Judaism). It is easier to assume the side of the Stalinists, as you get to make some incredibly stupid arguments. Stalinists also are more likely to support Pol Pot. Common Stalinist tactics include dismissing all negative claims about Stalin (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Stalin) as Nazi propaganda, endlessly use Godwin's Law (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Godwin%27s_Law) to justify Stalin's actions, say that there is no proof whatsoever for any person to say that Stalin ever did anything bad ever. When the other side ever disputes any of these claims, call him a fascist and request he be banned. The same works for Mao (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Mao) but it isn't nearly as much fun. An example thread which didn't quite work (http://www.revleft.com/vb/better-revolutionary-stalin-t143328/index.html).
Apply the same tactic with Anarchists and Leninists. If you intend to take on the anarchist role you'll have to read up the Spanish revolution, wave the bloody flag, and threaten physical violence against all who disagree with you. Say that you're from RAAN (Red & Anarchist Network) and that you're a hardassed motherfucker (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Faggot) who don't take no shit. Taking on the role of the Leninists will involve becoming a pussy, but you get to make continuous use of the following buzzwords: counterrevolutionary, reactionary, liberal, bourgeois, and idealist. Say as many of them as you can as fast as you can in any area of the board, preferably while making a thread about the Troubles in Northern Ireland: a guaranteed flamebait.
Start a thread titled "Kronstadt" and watch the fun unfold.
Declare yourself one of the following (never in combination or you may be taken seriously): National Anarchist, Posadist, Third Worldist, Anarcho-Capitalist, Forkliftist. (Being or pretending to be a "National" "Anarchist" will get your sorry ass banned faster than you can say boo. Third Worldist's might also be banned post haste depending on the situation.)
Post anything against trannies (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Dickgirls). The srs (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Srs) revolutionaries (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Anarchy) of revleft are so sensitive when it comes to trannies that if you don't want to fuck a tranny and aren't full of faggotry (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Faggotry) yourself, then they'll accuse you of being a religious fundie, Hitler, or both. Bonus points for posing as a feminazi (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Feminazi) and accusing trannies of being men conducting psyops (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Psyops) against women's liberation (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Shit_nobody_cares_about).
Also, be sure to ask to see Revleft's super-secret mod and admin forums. With how jealously the guard it for reasons of "security," they must have some good shit (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Dox) like a mountain of CP (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/CP) for the Party Van (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Party_Van).
Pretend to be an old time member who forgot their username and then ask where the Commie Club (you could abbreviate as CC) is. Be sure to extol the virtues of user participation in forum administration. For bonus points say something about democracy and building a revolution online. The admins love that stuff.
There's a sizable anti-Stalin lobby in revleft; basically take a Stalinist approach to everything and you're assured to piss someone off without getting banned.
Ask them how they can fight for Islamic rights if they oppress women and are homophobic
Start a thread about how hypocritical is it for admins to run in elections on small business platforms. The website of the admin in question used to be here (http://www.deborahallen2010.com/) but got taken down. Still can be found in the Google Cache apparently... See also Facebook page(?) (http://www.facebook.com/posted.php?id=118054744881100), Twitspace (http://twitter.com/deboraallen2010)

Recent drama (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Drama) has lead to new users having their first ten posts be approved. Please don't troll for a least the first few posts. Also should be noted is that new users won't be able to see the Chit Chat forum. But that's OK as posts there don't count towards the post count. Tips to get your ten posts quickly without being banned:

Find a longish thread, quickly read the first page, and then a page from the middle somewhere. Paraphrase a post from the middle somewhere.
Start a thread about voting or unions (also a good method of trolling if done correctly, but to be a troll thread it requires a good knowledge of the view points of view).
Post in the "What are you listening to" thread in the music forum. Also, post a thread about how great Rage Against the Machine is. (Also, good trolling potential is to be had in saying how much you like Immortal Technique (http://www.revleft.com/vb/all-those-say-t140701/index.html), or how much you hate him 'cause of his sexism.)

yeah, I saw this a couple months ago. I'd started noticing that revleft was getting this huge influx of trolls, to the degree that it seemed like there must be some corner of the internet somewhere where trolls were discussing revleft. so i typed in "revleft" and "troll" to google search, and sure enough.
I haven't noticed as many on here lately, though.

Someone just got trolled.

I was wondering if ED had an article on Revleft and how to troll it. Guess that answers that. Revleft is too good a target for that not to be the case.

I saw that. I laughed at the stuff about stalin.

I remember reading this awhile back, though the last four points weren't there when I read it. I think some angry users who got banned have been editing it and threw those in. The last bullet is especially something from the drama this forum went through awhile back.

I quite like the idea of there being an anti-stalin lobby. How can you lobby against the dead?

I guess it's the Anarcho-Trot conspiracy :D. I surprised that isn't mentioned directly though.

It's probably a good thing my "Trolling RevLeft: 6 Surefire Ways to Stir up a Shitstorm" got put in the hidden trash. It's much easier than the ED article makes it seem.

this is also on the partyvan.info wiki. To tell you the truth, that's how I found out about this site a year ago. But since I was a leftist, I decided to not to troll, but to stay and lurk.

Seriously, though, trolling RevLeft is laughably easy. You don't even have to intentionally troll to get someone, ANYONE to call you a liberal, revisionist, or authoritarian Stalinist. Any plain old opinion will do.

Revleft is too easy to troll indeed. Many people become far too angry here in general. It's as if people just want to persuade everyone into their own opinion, instead of coming to this forum with a willingness to learn. Of course, that is not true in all cases.

You seem to think that open minded people are somehow obligated to entertain the most ridiculous of lunacies. The fact that people don't enterntain ridiculous ideas might have nothing to do with them being "close-minded" (although it CAN be that too), but perhaps the idea presented is just batshit crazy.

I think most revlefters know exactly what is required for them to change their minds.

I guess it is easy to troll in some sense, but I've seen many long time members avoid any thread that creates a shit-storm over nothing. Newer members, trolls, and those who think of revolution 24/7 tend to be the ones mostly involved in that. Unless it's just me, but most of the older members have been mostly in chit-chat ever since the CC-closed.

So if you're being a troll on those points you have to be quick.

The best thing about this thread is that it's entiteld "Trolling Revleft" and was started by Devrim of all people. That's funny on levels.

Huh, it got bigger. Quite a bit bigger. It's no biggie, any site of any size is eventually going to get enough bitter former members to write an ED article.

I'd be more concerned about our visibility if we weren't on ED.

I thought the exact same thing.

On a different note, one sentence in the article is from my "Trolling RevLeft" thread; specifically:

Make a thread called "When is the CC coming back?" Watch people call each other "power-hungry conspirators" and "ungrateful teenagers" for weeks on end.

I'm honestly curious as to why, if someone saved parts of that thread, they didn't just post the whole thing? That topic was apparently in the ED article already anyways.

Because when you hover the mouse over this thread it reads as that, when I first read the mouse hovering description I thought this was about a whole section on Devrim since his signature at the end of his post comes right after the link. Which would be completely fucking hilarious since Devrim is probably the calmest person on this site.
