Recently Europe has seen a rise in rightist party's and anti-immigrant/muslim party's. In europe like most democracies there is two major party's in parliament. One of these party's are usually corrupt or something during there time in office happens which is bad for the country. Then people vote for the alternate party. Sometimes people are frustrated with both party's. When corruption happens they need an alternative. In the old days the leftist party's were the alternative. Know days the alternate party is the far right like in Belgium. there country is debating separation yet they ban the veil. Different priorities i guess ? Also if you look at Russia there is a lot of racism and neo-nazis or white supremacists there. Even the cops are racist. So my question is how would the left ( which no offense is kind of shattered and does not really offer an opposition to the right. Which there plan for the bad economy is blame the immigrants. ) stop these fascist or rightist movements ?

The left has become far too overtaken by centrism, compromise. The liberal tendencies have caused them to accept too much. And the left has been very patronizing over the last few decades.
People say Obama got elected because he's black. That's partially true, it got him recognized. But he got elected because he told people they could seize the reigns of power; "yes we can."
Left wing populism happens, but it's not covered as much by the media. And it's what we need to get out there. People think of leftism as ivory tower paternalism, instead of the promotion of people's struggles against power.

that is true. So are you saying the left should use tactics like Obama to get out there? I think that one thing the left needs to do is create coalitions with other leftist party's to try to create i united front.

The "Rifondazione Comunista" in Italy have been doing just that. The problem is that the left is not homogenous and there is always some kind of sectarian disintegration. I think perhaps the left just has too many issues to deal with- it's a tough one- perhaps it's better to get back to the basic axioms and work out things from there. A house divided will not stand.
With regard to the OP- rightly or wrongly I do detect a feeling that the left may have lost touch in a sense with the old European working class who now begin to drift right, obviously the right are very good at spotting weaknesses or area of vulnerability and capitalise on this to their advantage- no pun intended.

it is a shame that the right looks like the only other option for the european people. Know it seems like racism is the solution to there problems instead of actually attacking the economic problem
