and don't just regurgitate the "THIS GUY IS A REVOLUTIONARY, HE'S THE BEST" shit, I've heard them all: I want some rappers that have some really tight music.

you can't really go wrong with anybody remotely related to Wu Tang really.

Lupe Fiasco's good.

Jay-Z is good.

People like Nas.

Kanye West is good.

Yeah.

Jay z and kanye are evil capitalists! check out immortal technique, old Dead Prez, Doomtree, Deltron 3030, Diabolic, Ill Bill, Mos Def, KRS One, Lowkey

Not all of them are revolutionary, they're just not capitalist pricks

Yes the lyrics are less than progressive at times, but whatever.

In my view the greatest rappers 'ever' are Big Daddy Kane and Rakim. I also think Lord Finesse has his moments of rap glory as does Nas and Big L. Shyheim is very hit and miss but some of his tracks I really like, Bond comes to mind as one definately worth a listen. My new favourite is Cormega, in particular his album The Realness. I'm sure there are hundreds of great rappers out there but I have to admit I'm more of a wannabe than an actual expert.
