Hello everyone! I live in South Jersey and i guess the scene isnt ultra conservative, more "Democratic Party" type. I used to be part of the so-called Ron Paul Revolution which is a little embarrassing to admit on here haha. I must say this forum is really cool. To see so many fellow left wingers truly makes me feel as if i'm not crazy! Maybe my thoughts aren't as idealistic as they would appear to me, what with being a former Libertarian and whatnot. I look forward to learning alot from everybody!
thanks!

Are you aware that they've managed to splice the libertarian gene with the communist gene. You got these people who are libcoms now...Seriously! Or maybe the right co-opted the term like they did with anarchism...who knows? Welcome to revleft...

I used to, in terms of Ron Paul, feel that my enemies enemy is my friend (the government). But I woke up from that glad to see you did too :)

Crazy? No you are one of the remaining rational people left in this world. So welcome to RevLeft! May you expand your knowledge to help fend off the Capitalist pigs. I'm not too sure of how much you know about Anarchism or the left in general but a good reference is the Anarchist FAQ. Whenever you have time you should check it out.

I have my libertarian tendencies, being a lib soc and all. So you are in good company in that regard.

Leave the Kevin Carson style "mutualism" alone and go straight for Marx/Engels then read some of the traditional anarchists. My advice :)

Welcome. I can't tell you how awesome it is to hear that you are a former libertarian.
The left really needs to win back the mantle of fighting for individual freedoms from the Libertarians. Being "free" to sell your labor to someone and do what they say, have the attitude they demand you have, dress how they want you to dress, and so on is not personal freedom - having to pay rent or being stuck to a mortgage is not personal freedom. The liberation from top-down unaccountable governments and unelected and unaccountable bosses that the left has traditionally stood for is the only real way to have true personal freedom.

Yes i agree. Freedom is a top priority but there should be compassion for your fellow man!
