Trade Embargo?

Granted, I haven't been following the news lately. Not as hardcore as I did, anyway, for I found that after a time i either got too angry or too desensitized.
But my roomate said he bought some Cuban cigars in Jamaica, and when he came back to the states the customs people told him that the embargo had lifted...Is this guy full of shit or have I been too engrossed in the past for a couple months? Did ole Jim Carter finally weasle his influence into congress?

I would have to say if something like that happened, no one would need to ask whether or not it's true as every news station/paper/website would have it as it's top story. Try CNN.com.
