I've only heard the one song, where she talks all the way thru. I forget the name but it's on the Peace Not War iraq CD. It gets slightly boring towards the end but there are some really nice phrases like the part where she says George Bush is not prez. From this song she is an excellant poet but i dont really know how good a singer she is.

i'm seeing her live this weekend at the philadelphia folk festival. if anyone else is going, i'll meet up with you there. i find it unlikely that any of you are in that area, but let me know!

i'll give you an update on it when i get back. it should rock.

harriet, i only have dilate but i love her poetry. that renditionof amazing grace is fabulous. i also like the songs dilate and napoleon. get your friend to burn you some copies of her other cds.

i was flipping through a friend's ym magazine and saw on one of those style sections something like "for a hippie flair, get these jeans and this ani difranco cd" and i almost wrote them a letter telling them that ani doesn't want her music marketed as part of a look. it really pissed me off.

I'm so jealous of all you people who've seen her live! The amaryllis, you've got to get Not a Pretty Girl cos that's awesome. I love Dilate on Dilate, especially the line "when i say you sucked my brain out,the english translation is i am in love with you", but I'm really not that keen on Amazing Grace. I love Ani's poem on NAPG, track 2, fucking amazing "the sunset has more colours than my sock draw ever dreamed of", how cool is that? I adore Ani, I really do, amazing stuff, and so much material!!!!

I am listening to "Evolve" right now. It is my only cd by her, and it rules mondo-style. Yeah.
