I'm surprised the conservative/reactionary Contra Costa Times wrote an article which almost sounds sympathetic. The man was working 2 jobs and sleeping in his car. People like this deserve our support but....what's your opinion?

My opinion is I can't believe I actually read one of their articles through and through, without gagging or passing out from their idiotic mouths.

Sad case of events none the less for the man's sake. You can never really know who's more likely to go off the deep end, but under his conditions, it seemed like a likely turn to take since most people in his position almost always do go and say or do something way out there like he did. Just sad.

Ya, I wouldn't use that newspaper as lining for a bird cage but the SF papers didn't explain the guys material conditions which led to his mental condition. What I'm pondering is the amount of stories out there that aren't "big news". Workers killing themselves quietly, ingesting all manner of drugs, ending up in jails and prisons because of the material conditions under capitalism. The only way the working poor get attention by the media is when we pull shit like this.

Unfortunately we're going to see more and more of this in the near future as this crisis deepens. in lieu of people demanding an alternative it seems self destruction, among the working poor, is more prevalent.

"He cried out for help, but he didn't do it in the right way," she said. "I hope he gets the help he needs now."

He sure as hell won't get it in jail. The "help" he needs is an end to economic slavery.

The volume on the dehumanizing amplifier will be turned up a few notches.
