History shows that the mood that develops among the student population is a reliable barometer for the mood in wider society. This was famously the case in France in May '68, where it was first the movement of the students that anticipated the magnificent movement of the French workers, who later carried out the 10 million-strong general strike which almost toppled capitalism in France.
Recent events in France have certainly been an inspiration for British workers and youth, and there is no mistaking the fact that British society has been influenced by the example of France.

Probably, but in the States there is a different situation.
I really have no hope for Americans and while I would gladly eat crow to see my fellow country men revolt, it would most likely be for right wing causes.
My hope is to move as soon as I am finished with my degrees.
Not that the rest of the world is in a better place, but they have not been bombarded with so much anti-communist/socialist and now even anti-liberal propaganda.

The way the economy is going we may just have to eat *crows*...! (heh)
I think humanity's whole project of civilization has come to a standstill, and those from parts of the world that had an earlier role in it probably feel more attached to its future as well.... The U.S. is just a rest stop along the way, by that kind of measurement....

To the OP, I think the title should say "globalism" not "globalization." Maybe I'm getting too academic, but I think globalization has specific ideological connotations, often in the neoliberal tradition. Not 100% on this though. Something I read in school once.
